Time for a challenge

I am excited to offer you my very first challenge. It all started when I came accross the saying "Peace starts with a smile". It inspired me to make the above aceo and I wondered how many others of you out there would be able to come up with something related to Peace, after all, we could all do with a little of that in our lives! So here's the challenge. Send me your link in the comments below to your Peace creation. (I am giving you two weeks to enter incase you are starting one from scratch) It can be any medium, from jewelry to painting, pottery to sewing, it's your choice, as long as it 's theme is Peace. I will need the entries by the 30th November. There will be a draw from all the entries for a prize of a custom photo canvas made by me. I will ask the winner to email me a photo of their choice which I will then prepare into a photo canvas similar to the ones below. Just click on the photos below to take you to my shop where you can read more about them.

I thought I would share with you this lovely poem that was presented to my 17 year old son Jordan on his graduation. Thought it kinda fitted in to the peace theme.
Because of you

Each time a child is born the world changes
When you were born there was a new person for your family to love and care for
And because of you there is one more person who can love and care for others,
Because of you there is one more person who will grow and learn and one more person who can teach others.
Beacuse of you there is one more person to share with
And there is one more person who can share feelings and ideas as well as things.
Because of you there is one more person who needs help and one more person who can help others.
When you help, care, share and listen, you are being kind. When two people help, care, share and listen to each other, they are friends.
When people from different countries help, care, share and listen to one another, it is called peace.
Even something as big and important as peace begins with something small and precious.
It might begin....
Because of you.

So there it is. I hope I have inspired you to show me what you've got. Oh, and by the way, I thought I would put together a little Etsy treasury of a selection of the entries. That is also going to be a first for me so I had better get my head around that one!

Hark The Herald Angels Sing Cross
    http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=34498961

    Hark the herald angels sing
    "Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
    God and sinners reconciled"
    Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
    With the angelic host proclaim:
    "Christ is born in Bethlehem"
    Hark! The herald angels sing
    "Glory to the newborn King!"

    Christ by highest heav'n adored
    Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
    Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
    Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
    Jesus, our Emmanuel
    Hark! The herald angels sing
    "Glory to the newborn King!"

Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
    Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
    Hark! The herald angels sing
    "Glory to the newborn King!"

Thank TC - this is Peace like no other!

  14. Hi here is my entry
    www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=
    32484083
I had just deleted my whole inspiration for it from the etsy listing, but I will just write it here:
The dove with green in her mouth from Genesis; we have peace with God thru the blood of Lord Jesus Christ, hence the red cathedral beads dangling (dropping) from the side of the heart shaped base.
The ark, and entering the ark before the flood, was the only way to salvation and peace, as a foreshadowing of Christ - the true ark of salvation - that upon entering into Him, and Him in us, we have salvation and importantly, we are reconciled with God thru Christ, and therefore we have peace.
I am so thankful to be a member of CASTteam, and to have this opportunity to write on your blog. Thank you very much!
