Time for a photography challenge!

Have you ever got to the point where you have that "been there, done that" feeling? Well I have decided I need a challenge and it involves you! In the coming week, I want YOU to give me subject matters to photograph! In the comments below give me a challenge to go capture and I will choose the one that is just right. i.e. something I havn't done before, thats a challenge, but that is still feasable. Obviously if one of you optimistically requests a photo of the Himilayas, as much as I would love to go there and snap away, I can't, so thats not going to be chosen! I reserve the right to choose which ever subject matter best suits my desires/whim! And here's the reward! The person whose challenge I take up will get from me: A FREE PRINT OF THE RESULTING PHOTOGRAPH or a print of choice from my shop.
By next Wednesday the 23rd March, providing I have enough response, I will have made up my mind and will post here who the winner is.
I have my camera in hand and I am itching to get going!

  1. I've always adored trees! I loved the portrayal of the Ents in Tolkien's fantasy world - as a race of beings in Middle-earth who closely resemble trees and are ancient shepherds of the forest. They have such charming traits:
Usually very patient and deliberate, they're extremely long-lived, but not immortal. With age they describe themselves as "not very bendable" and become 'treeish', settling down in one place and growing roots and leaves. Eventually, they cease to be conscious and become trees permanently.

Have you ever seen a tree that you're just positive must have been an Ent in it's younger days ;D

    Photograph it!

  5. Self Portrait, you can interpret this in so many ways. It is a double journey, discovering yourself and expanding your art.

  6. I like pictures of history. It doesn't have to be a monument though. I love to see old abandoned farm houses or barns, and imagine what they were like in their prime. May seem sad to some, but projecting my imagination or a scene like that is interesting to me. Perhaps an old buiding done in black and white, with a new plant blossoming in color in the foreground, or sitting on the porch.

    Those make my heart smile.

  8. Find an everday item and capture it in a unique way. We so often over look these things that can be made into a beautiful piece of art!

  11. oh this is a tough one. i love nature, trees, plush leafy plants, flowers, waterfalls. and i love animals.

but something you havent done..i think photographs of urban objects can be very cool especially when done in an artistic way. and in black and white.

even something like a fences, graffiti, stairs. things that are in the everyday city "landscape" that people dont pay attention to.

  12. What a great idea! I love photography. I think one of the most difficult things to catch on camera is true emotion, the kind that comes from the gut and screams in the 1000 words the picture is worth. How about capturing PURE JOY in a series from young to old. A child, an adult, and an elder.

  13. Jocelyn, are you near a city? Are there architectural buildings? I am very fond of anything wrought iron. Do they have much there?

  21. Those are amazing agave photos! Hmm...I think an interesting photo challenge would be to photograph emotions or thoughts, whether it be how we perceive things or the memories an image evokes.
